Social Purpose
You can also use your DI hours for volunteer work or a social cause. Think of spending a day helping at your child’s school, a care home, or a charity. This way, you can contribute to something meaningful for others (and for yourself) during your working hours.
Practical information
There are many ways to use your DI hours for a social purpose, such as:
- Donating blood or plasma
- Volunteering at a food or clothing bank
- Supporting an educational institution
- Helping in a nursing home or care facility
- Contributing to a charity
- Assisting during a children’s holiday week
- Volunteering at an animal shelter
- Taking part in Earth Day activities
- Helping at local clubs, associations, or foundations
- Joining a construction or renovation project
- Mentoring young people through Cel4
- Gardening in a community garden
- Supporting people in a hospice or hospital
- Volunteering for Stichting Humanitas
Your choice is up to you. Always discuss your idea with your manager first. It must meet the following conditions:
- You volunteer for a non-profit association, foundation, or organisation in education, health care, or community work.
- You do this on a voluntary basis, without financial compensation.
- The activity takes place during working hours, between 07:00 and 19:00.
