About Samen Sterk

Learn how the program works, how to use your SE-hours, and who’s involved.

About the program

At JBT Marel, we believe it’s important that you can work in a healthy, safe and enjoyable way. Each year, you receive 8 SE-hours to invest in your sustainable employability. You can use these hours for the Samen Sterk activities, such as trainings, workshops or personal coaching — or for your own initiative or a social purpose. You decide what to do with the hours, and Samen Sterk is here to support you.

We’re open to new ideas!

How to get started

Step 1

View the offerings for employees. You can filter by topic, type of activity, location and number of SE-hours.

Step 2

Choose an activity that fits your needs. Each activity shows the date, time and how many hours you need. You can find your current hour balance in your time registration system.

Step 3

Sign up for the activity or join the waiting list. You will receive a confirmation.

Step 4

Register your SE-hours. How you do this depends on your JBT Marel location and the time registration system you use.

If you’d like to use your SE-hours for your own initiative or a social cause, please discuss this with your manager first. Once approved, you can use them in the same way as for the Samen Sterk programme.

Terms & conditions

  • The SE-budget has to be utilized during working hours (7:00 till 19.00). If the activity is scheduled outside of your regular work hours but within the timeframe of 7:00 till 19.00 during a workday, you may utilize the flexible working arrangement.
  • The sustainable employability day is not an additional day off and therefore not intended for activities contributing to recuperation, such as a wellness day or doing nothing at home.
  • Hours spent by the employee on training reimbursed according to the training policy do not count toward this day.
  • The timing of the sustainable employability day’s utilization requires approval from the supervisor and, if necessary, the department.
  • It is not necessary to take the hours consecutively. You can use them for multiple activities on different days.
  • The time spent on sustainable employability activities must be recorded under this category in your time tracking system.

How do I register and check my SE hours?

Registering and viewing your SE-hours depends on the Marel location where you work and the time registration system you use. Below, we explain it for each system:
